Lefkes at a glance
Lefkes is a village in the hills of the interior of Paros. It is a different kind of place from the coastal towns. There is no harbor and no beach, just stone lanes, white houses and views over the hills. The national tourism listing counts it among the picturesque villages of the island.
The village sits on the island bus line that runs from Parikia through Lefkes to Prodromos, Marpissa, Piso Livadi, Logaras, Punda Beach, Golden Beach and Drios. That makes it an easy half-day trip from the port town, and it combines well with the walk to Prodromos and a beach on the east coast. If you are looking for the ferry port, that is Parikia, not Lefkes.

The church of Agia Triada
The village church has marble bell towers and a marble iconostasis. The municipality gives 1830 as the year the foundation stone was laid and 1835 as the year it was finished.
Visit the church at the times it is open and respect any services. The hills around the village are visible in the photo.

The Byzantine path to Prodromos
A short walk that links two villages.
Route and length
The path connects Lefkes with Prodromos. The municipality places the start at Louki's Café in Lefkes. The distance is 3.5 km and the walking time about 45 minutes in this direction, mostly downhill with a few short climbs.
Surface and history
Parts of the path are paved with Parian marble. The municipality traces it to the Byzantine period, around the year 1000. That is its description, not a measured construction date.
One way, not a loop
The 45 minutes apply from Lefkes down to Prodromos. Walking back up takes longer. Plan to return by bus, since Prodromos is on the same bus line, or by taxi. Check the current timetable before you go.
What to bring
Take water, sun protection and shoes with grip. Ask locally about the state of the path before you set out. It is a walking route, not a managed attraction with a ticket office.
How to fit Lefkes into a day
Three ideas based on the bus line.
Village and path
Take the bus from Parikia to Lefkes in the morning, look at the church and walk down to Prodromos. Take the bus onward or back from Prodromos.
Path and east coast beach
After Prodromos, the same bus line reaches Marpissa, Piso Livadi, Logaras, Punda Beach and Golden Beach, where you can swim or try windsurfing. See the beaches page for the options.
Lefkes as a base
If you want a quiet stay away from the coast, Lefkes is an option. Expect to use the bus or a car for the beach. The where to stay page compares areas.
For a harbor village with a castle, see Naoussa. For the full list of sights, see things to do in Paros. In the October 2026 timetable, buses on this line run between 19 and 30 October, so check the times for your date.
